Discover some of Tuscany's history in Pisa |
People planning villa holidays in Tuscany before the end of the year will be able to learn more about the history and culture of their destination at an exhibition in Pisa.
An event exploring the time when Pisa was ruled by the house of Lorraine will be held in the Palazzo Reale and the Teatro Rossi from September 20th to December 14th this year.
The exhibition looks at the aspects of lasting significance of the Lorraine rulers of Pisa, which was one of the most importance centres of the grand duchy of Tuscany, between 1737 and 1859.
Visitors on villa holidays will be able to see paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, furnishings, costumes, maps and much more from both private and public collections.
Pisa is one of Tuscany's most famous cities, arguably second only to Florence, and is known worldwide for its iconic leaning tower.
The leaning tower is located in the city's Piazza del Duomo, or Cathedral Square, along with other impressive sights such as the cathedral itself, the baptistery and the monumental cemetery.
