Explore Rome's Quadrenniale d'Arte |
Art enthusiasts on villa holidays in or around Rome this summer will be able to attend a historic exhibition exploring the best contemporary work that Italy has to offer.
The Quadrenniale d'Arte a Roma was born in 1927 and takes on the challenge of publicly demonstrating the constant evolution taking place in the modern art field.
This year's festival got underway recently, on June 19th, and people on villa holidays in Rome will be able to visit the event until September 14th.
Most of the works are exhibited in the Italian capital's Palazzo delle Esposizioni and some were created specifically to be shown in this space.
More than 100 Italian artists contributed pieces to this year's exhibition, each of whom has taken on the responsibility of finding expression through artistic techniques that are unique and personal.
This year's Sunday Times Travel Magazine readers' awards voted Rome one of the top five cities in Europe and named Italy the continent's best holiday country.
