Explore Spain's Pedra Tosca park |
Travellers on villa holidays on the Costa Brava this summer will be able to participate in tours of Pedra Tosca park, one of the region's most striking and interesting landscapes.
This year's season of tours began on March 20th and will run until November 23rd, with forthcoming trips available on August 14th, September 5th and November 23rd.
Pedra Tosca park is described by the Costa Brava tourist board as "an ancient world of broken stone formed 11,000 years ago".
The walking tour of the park begins at the Baixador de Codella, a small building beside the Olot-Girona railway line, and continues along a course including paths of lava from the Croscat volcano.
People taking part in the tours will see a number of other sights along their route, including huts and shelters, one of which is thought to have been a pre-Romanesque chapel.
Holidaymakers can choose between two courses an easygoing 5km route or a slightly more challenging 10km walk.
People staying in Costa Brava villas this summer can book places on the tours at the information centre in the volcanic natural park in the Garrotxa region.
