Extended opening hours at Florence museums |
Villa holidays in Tuscany this month will provide a number of extra opportunities to visit some of Florence's major museums as they offer longer opening hours.
The Florence tourist office announced an arrangement by the Polo Museale Fiorentino with the Uffizi museum and Galleria dell'Accademia.
Every Tuesday and Wednesday until September 30th will see both of these attractions stay open until 10pm.
Running alongside this initiative is a programme of events arranged by the Florapromotuscany, an association of Florence tourist guides.
Throughout the month of September visitors to the city will be able to take part in tours of the Uffizi every Tuesday and the Accademia every Wednesday, as well as boat trips on the Arno river every Thursday.
The range of museums on offer is one of the main reasons why many people taking villa holidays in Tuscany choose to visit Florence, with establishments such as the Palatine Gallery and the Bargello Museum boasting extensive collections and hosting regular events.
