Malaga museum to look at Max Ernst |
Modern art enthusiasts will be familiar with the name of Max Ernst and those looking forward to villa holidays on the Costa del Sol over the coming months will be able to see an exhibition dedicated to the artist in Malaga.
The Museo Picasso will bring together a number of Ernst's pieces from the Museum Wurth for an exhibition running from September 22nd to March 1st next year.
Ernst is considered one of the most significant figures in the artistic movements of Dadaism and Surrealism. He is mainly known for his paintings but also worked in a range of other media.
His sculptures, drawings, engravings and paintings on show at the Museo Picasso in Malaga will provide a comprehensive view of his striking and sometimes disturbing imagination.
People on villa holidays on the Costa del Sol who decide to visit the museum will also be able to explore its permanent collection, which includes hundreds of works by the great artist after whom the establishment is named.
Picasso was born in the city of Malaga, as was Hollywood star Antonio Banderas.
