Miro Foundation shows off collection |
The Joan Miro Foundation on the island of Mallorca will provide an impressive spectacle this year when it exhibits its collection of the artist's work.
Intended to show the diversity of the foundation's collection, the exhibition allows visitors to get a close look at the various creative processes, tools and materials that Miro used.
People staying in Mallorca villas can complement their visit to the Miro Foundation by looking at the artist's Sert and Son Boter workshops, as well as the gallery's garden, which houses some of his large sculptures.
Every Saturday, all citizens and visitors are given free entrance to the Miro Foundation.
Miro, who was born in Barcelona, was celebrated as an important member of the Surrealist movement and often spoke out against the conventions and principles of established forms of painting.
Art lovers staying in Costa Brava villas may be interested in visiting Barcelona to explore the Joan Miro Foundation at Montjuic.
