Pisa to host gastro-festival |
Good food is one of the most popular and important aspects of Italian culture, as people who have taken villa holidays in the country will know, and a festival celebrating this fact will launch in the province of Pisa this month.
Pisa, which is located in the Tuscany region of Italy, will play host the Volterragusto festival from October 11th to November 23rd.
This festival will incorporate a programme of gastronomic events to celebrate the role of Volterra, a town in Pisa, as a meeting place for lovers of good food.
Events will take place on the streets and squares of Volterra on every weekend from mid October until late November.
Highlights will include presentations by food producers and exhibitors in the Piazza XX Settembre and the highly popular White Truffle Fair.
People staying in Tuscany villas can enjoy a number of other sights and attractions during a visit to Volterra, including a Roman theatre that was excavated in the 1950s, the Piazza dei Priori square and the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta.
