Theatre group presents History of Rome |
People on villa holidays in Rome this summer will have the opportunity to see an innovative show presented by an English-speaking theatre group.
The Miracle Players will perform The History of Rome: Part 1 at the Roman Forum every Friday until August 8th this year.
This 40-minute show, which mixes history with comedy, explores the various fortunes and misfortunes of Italy's Eternal City and the protagonists that played a part in its development.
As this year marks the tenth anniversary of the Miracle Players' first performance of the Roman Forum, the show will feature some of the funniest moments from previous years' events.
A range of great visionaries served as inspiration for The History of Rome, ranging from Suetonius and Plutarch to Shakespeare and even Monty Python.
The Roman Forum is one of the many 'must-see' attractions on offer to people on villa holidays in Rome. It was the central area around which ancient Rome was developed and encompasses a number of temples, basilicas and arches.
